| Expertise: Mr. Friesen is a partner
in the firm’s Labor & Employment Group. He joined Hale
Friesen after 17 years at Davis Graham & Stubbs, LLP where he
served as the head of that firm’s Labor & Employment Group.
He has extensive trial experience, including more than ten jury trials
(all of which he won) many more trials to the court and administrative
hearings and arbitrations. He has successfully litigated cases involving
all aspects of employment law, as well as numerous large, complex
cases and class actions.
Mr. Friesen has published numerous articles and delivered many speeches on every
aspect of employment law, including how to win employment cases, discrimination,
wrongful discharge, breach of contract, sexual harassment, trade secrets and
privacy. He has also served on the faculty for the National Institute for Trial
Advocacy, teaching a course in trial skills.
Mr. Friesen served as a law clerk to the Honorable Jim R. Carrigan of the United
States District Court for the District of Colorado (1984/85). He was the managing
editor of the UCLA – Pacific Basin Law Journal and received honors for
his moot court advocacy while attending the UCLA School of Law. Mr. Friesen graduated
cum laude from Williams College in 1981 (philosophy), where he was elected to
Phi Beta Kappa. Involvement: Mr. Friesen has served
on numerous charitable and non-profit boards, including President
of Family Futures, Colorado Storm Soccer Association and Secretary
of The Children’s Hospital. Awards: Mr. Friesen’s awards include Denver
Bar Association Young Lawyer of the Year (1992), and Colorado Bar
Association Civil Litigator Award (1991). In 1994 he was elected
Second Vice President
of the Denver Bar Association. He has been recognized for his leadership
and professional accomplishments by 9-News, The Denver Business Journal,
the Colorado Journal and others. |
