| Expertise: Mr. Kelly is a partner focusing on employment, commercial litigation and
technology law. His employment experience includes serving as national
employment counsel to a global manufacturing company. In addition to
litigation, he provides advice on federal and state pre-litigation
matters in all aspects of employment law and has handled hearings before
federal and state entities throughout the United States. In commercial
litigation, Mr. Kelly's experience includes class actions, non-competes,
trade secrets, unfair trade practices, construction and real estate
litigation, breach of contract, and indemnity obligations. He has served
as Outside General Counsel to an international engineering company's
Louisiana operation. Mr. Kelly's technology practice includes drafting
and negotiating software and internet-centric agreements and litigation
surrounding licenses and technology.
Mr. Kelly publishes articles and frequently speaks at seminars and
conferences. He taught the Skills Curriculum Course on appellate
practice at Loyola University School of Law and has served on the
faculty for trial academies in Louisiana and Colorado. He has served as
legal consultant to print, radio and television media.
Mr. Kelly graduated from the St. Louis University School of Law in 1992,
where he was appointed to the Alpha Sigma Nu Jesuit Honor Society,
served as Chairman of the Moot Court Board and was a National Moot Court
Competition participant. He is admitted to practice in all State and
Federal courts of Colorado and Louisiana, the United States Circuit
Court of Appeals for the Tenth, Fifth, and District of Columbia Circuits
and the United States Supreme Court.
Involvement: Mr. Kelly's community service has included the Colorado Lawyer's
Committee, Tulane University's Provost Council, Assistant Louisiana Bar
Examiner for the Constitutional Law Section, and Vice Chairman of the
Board of the New Orleans Good Shepherd School. He served as chairman and
founder of the Louisiana Technology Council's Entertainment Technology
Group and as President and Chairman of the Junipero Serra Club of
Downtown New Orleans. In 2006, he graduated from the Council for A
Better Louisiana Leadership Forum.
