Matthew Spengler focuses primarily on land use, eminent domain and public policy/appellate. Mr. Spengler has gained extensive experience in government relations and public policy while serving as Government Relations Manager for the International Association of Fire Chiefs. He represented the interests of the nation's first fire service leadership on Capitol Hill and before various administrative agencies, including the Department of Homeland Security and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Mr. Spengler is a frequent contributor to the Rocky Mountain Appellate Blog. Mr. Spengler received a J.D. from George Mason University School of Law in 2006. He received a master's degree in public administration from the University of Colorado-Denver in 1998 and an A.B. from Davidson College in 1992. While attending law school, Mr. Spengler was an articles editor for the George Mason Law Review and served on the Moot Court Board. He participated in the National Moot Court Competition and is a Bryce Harlow Scholar, 2004 to 2006. Mr. Spengler joined Hale Friesen LLP in 2008. Prior to joining Hale Friesen, Mr. Spengler was a law clerk for Judge Susan G. Braden on the United States Court of Federal Claims in Washington, D.C. from 2006-07. Mr. Spengler also clerked for Justice Gregory Hobbs on the Colorado Supreme Court from 2007-08. |
